This is long overdue! We are happy to have our new visiting scholars Meili Liu and Songchen Tan join the THG lab.
Meili obtained a CSC Scholarship to spend two years as a PhD student in the THG lab, coming to us from Beijing Normal University in China!
Songchen is an undergraduate student from Peking University on a scholarship through the Danforth center at UCLA. Having sampled southern California he is finishing off his stay in northern California in the THG lab!
Dr. Li obtained her PhD at Tsinghua University with focus on the electronic structure and chemical bonding analyses of the compounds containing heavy metalic elements. She will be working on methodology and applications to catalytic reactivity.
Dr. Hao obtained her PhD in the Chemistry Department at Brown University. She will be working on methodology and applications to reactivity under confinement.
Welcome to new visiting scholar Dr. Farnaz Heidar-Zadeh who will be visiting Berkeley for one year before assuming her assistant professorship in Canada! Farnaz is a FWO-Flanders Fellow and CAS Future Leader!
Dr. James Lincoff (PhD Chemical Engineering, May 2019) will be taking a postdoctoral position in Biophysics at UCSF starting in late June!
Dr. Shuai Liu (PhD Chemistry, May 2019) will be taking a new position at Facebook doing machine learning starting in July!
Dominique comes to us from UC Riverside. He will be working on lots of methodology related to electrocatalysis! Welcome Dominique
Valerie will start her independent position as an Assistant Professor in the Chemistry Department at Virginia Tech this summer! Her husband Matthew Welborn will also start his independent career at the Molecular Sciences Software Institute in Blacksburg, hence they have solved the 2-body problem!
